Wake up early for a swim in the lake, hike Mount Blue and Tumbledown (then plunge yourself into the pond at the top), rent a kayak on a calm evening, and then hang out by the fire by at your campsite. Sounds nice, right?
The full moon is a fine time to be outside - paddling the marsh, hiking a trail, or wandering the dark streets of an historic village. And you can do all of these things on Friday, June 9, when the full moon makes its grand appearance.
Getting outside onto the road, trail, or water is a life-enhancing experience on its own. But it's also way more fun when you're with other people who also love to hike, paddle, run, and ride. Check out these Facebook groups and Meetups to meet people who like doing what you like doing!
Whether you're looking for fitness pals or people to hike or paddle with, Meetup.com has a lot of options. There are groups for runners and groups for walkers looking to get moving at an accessible pace. There's a paddling group and a weekly paddleboard meetup and a couple of meetups for rock climbers (or people wanting to become rock climbers).

I've been a big fan of the Meetup.com concept. I'm an even bigger fan since joining the Let's Go Do Stuff Meetup for a leisurely paddle on the Pleasant River and some impromptu rope swinging a few weeks ago.
The meetup is geared toward experienced paddleboarders who'd maybe like to expand their paddling horizons (you know, make new paddling friends, explore more of Casco Bay, brainstorm all the ways to combine paddleboarding with other sports - like paddleboard polo!).
